MAN AS REASON CENTRAL

The central motif of Henry Monaco is the man, and implicitly the drama of man, and furthermore, the drama of man in his own country, Argentina. This constitutes the first and essential virtue, but it does by way of a realistic routine, but seeks, in his drawings as her paintings, a more comprehensive reality, which is one that is manifested in a more emotional expression high, ie, more contemporary, as the true realism was not, by no means exhausted by the great masters of the best times of the past.

Make men even more alive, even more operative, that is, even more dynamic, obviously concerned about the process of his work.

Henry's concern Monaco mural, whose technique has been demonstrated many times, and among them, work he did with me in the poly-forum with my name, in Mexico City, makes me think that in this way, not only different, but opposite the easel box, you can reach increasingly higher stages.

David Alfaro Siqueiros - Mexico 1974

HUMANITY, vehement, SIMPLICITY AND PURITY

When the drawing is an expression that has its genesis in the guts of sensitivity, it certainly comes with enough qualifications to enter without bans, in the most hidden inwardly of the beholder. In this case, the drawing becomes a gesture so typical of who is doing it to separate from the person is like condemning is for consumption or suffocation.

That is the idea that emerges from the drawings of Henry Monaco whose line, uniquely sensitive, vented his brilliant humanity, as if there were tight enough to prevent valve.

And that is the merit that we highlight here, because a drawing of this nature, flesh and soul of an idea, strength of will that borders on stubbornness, sets an aesthetic attitude with the same precision that is set in sealing the printing of a stamp.

Enrique Monaco has reached the secrets of drawing as others come to the essence of human behavior becoming saints: in a state of eagerness. His line that has the characteristics of a secret, is bursting with the force that gives her faith in art and moving up within their domains.

For these drawings are astray a man who has managed to live intensely, which has given financial strength clean language to communicate with their peers, and use it to approach the human soul with the simplicity and purity with which the prophets communicated with God in solitude Desert thick and leaden.

October 1968

Rodrigo Bonome

"The drawings of the painter Henry Monaco on display at the Circulo de Bellas Artes de Madrid are level with the best of times. "

Madrid, Spain, 1968.

Joseph M. Campoy

THE ART OF MONACO

The views from the plastic forms: the feelings through poetry here the artistic personality of the great Argentine painter Enrique Monaco

There are works racial depth and fluidity of touch. Their models are designed in a room which is not statutory but vivid. But as calm and meditative pause. Their colors are not shiny but crumbled in relief tied with bodily strength. There are works that in Monaco a certain duality between the strongly modeled and loose cloth in long strokes. Art in its most characteristic figure summarizes the model, but without extreme expression, with the strength and even respect for noble human face. Art that makes it compatible so poetic delicacy of the portrait sometimes model.

Landscapes and figures all emotional part of that unit that does not overlap, but merges with art for both released and defining the volume. Built to modern art but based on a direct view of reality.
